The Welcome Mat

This, my dudes, is my writing blog. I gotta say it is going to be an iterative process to get it where I would like it, but as long as you guys are committed to the ride, I’m happy to have you.

I’ll just start by telling you my genre is Speculative Fiction. When I tell people this I generally get the confused face and the “What’s that?” question. As a general definition it is “a broad literary genre encompassing any fiction with supernatural, fantastical, or futuristic events”. This sums me up beautifully; all my work falls neatly within the supernatural, fantastical, and futuristic.

I have an entire list of stories I’m working on that have some or all of those things listed on my Works in Progress page on the sidebar above my photo to give you an idea of what you can expect from me. But as far as what you can expect from this blog, you’ll get a good smattering of my journey as a writer, you’ll become victim to my literary experiments and get begged for feedback, you’ll get my unsolicited opinion/learnings about writing, and you’ll be recommend some books that I’ve fallen in love with or grown from. This blog is going to start out messy and all types of crazy, but it will be nothing less that what I am: imperfect, still learning, always revising.
